Reservations and cancellations

A deposit of 100 % of the total charge will be debited to your credit or debit card on completion of this process; Our cancellation terms are 

All room ( room and breakfast charges ) must be paid for when booking.  Customers arriving on spec ( walk ins ) will be charged on arrival.

Cancellation Conditions
If a booking is cancelled less than 7 days before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.

All rooms are offered subject to them being available on receipt of successfull completion of credit or debit card payment Please note that any cancellation by you of a reservation must be notified to us in writing or by email and will take effect on the day it is received by us. We do advise you to take holiday insurance to cover the cost of your deposit and holiday.

Amendments and changes to room booking dates

Any change or amendment to the arrival date on a room booking will be accommodated on a single ( one room only ) booking if another suitable date is available for that room and provided the amendment is made 7 days or more in advance.

Amendments and changes on Multiple Room Bookings ( more than one room booked by the same customer as one booking )

On multiple room bookings any change or amendment will only be possible if the amendment or change is requested more than 28 days in advance of stay and if rooms are available. Only 1 change from the original booked date will be permitted. If a customer requests a change or cancellation of a multi room of a booking date any monies paid to the hotel for the room bookings are then non refundable under any circumstances due to the high potential for loss of revenue caused to the hotel by that change. If a second or further change or changes of date or cancellation are requested any monies paid to the hotel ( deposits or full payments ) will be non refundable.

Payment of Accounts

A signed credit card imprint will be required on arrival for further charges such as telephone calls, drinks etc, and any outstanding charges on departure will be debited. Accounts can be settled in cash, MASTERCARD, VISA, DELTA or MAESTRO, DINERS and AMERICA EXPRESS card. Credit cards are authorised on arrival. Cheques (personal or company) will not be accepted. Rooms are normally charged for after purchase alternatively a pre authorisation may be taken. See cancellations for cancellation and refund policy.


Arrival and Departure:

Rooms may not be ready until 3.00pm on day of arrival, but guests are welcome to arrive early we are open normally from 12 mid day. Arrival and Departure On departure day, rooms must be vacated by 10.30am, and late check outs will be charged for as we will incur additional cleaning costs. We reserve the right to remove guest personal possessions from the room and store them within the hotel if a guest should have checked out and for any reason does not. Liability Whilst the hotel brochure or web site is intended to give a fair representation of the facilities available, there may be occasions when certain facilities are out of use which may be beyond our control Although every effort will be made to try and ensure that this does not happen, where it is unavoidable, then no liability shall attach to the hotel by reason thereof. If you require further information about anyof our particular facilities or their availability please email at least 48 hours in advance of your visit so that your queries can be dealt with. The hotel cannot accept responsibility for anything said to you by our staff outside the information given in the brochure or web site and tariff unless it is confirmed in email. All information given in the hotel brochures, web site and tariff is correct at the time of going to press but services/facilities may vary during the validity of the brochure. Guest Information The hotel is not responsible at all for any property lost on the premises. The hotel is not responsible for damage or loss to guest vehicles left on our premises and guests park in our car park at their own risk Guests may bring visitors into the hotel by prior written arrangement with our management only. Charges and restrictions will apply.


The Oxenham Arms non smoking policy.


Due to UK legislation smoking will not be permitted in any public area. Smoking is not permitted in any of the hotel's bedrooms. Smoking is permitted on designated areas. Unlawful smoking in guest rooms including public areas, bedrooms or bathrooms will incur a £250 fine to cover cleaning and re-set of smoke alarms.


Special Arrangements.

Where special arrangements are required, i.e. diet, room location, the hotel must be advised in writing.


Child Z beds in rooms are restricted to a maximum age of 14 years. A nightly Z bed additional charge of £35 per bed/child is made to cover bedding and breakfast costs. Z beds are restricted to the Belstone, Bovey room and the Chagford Room.


Beauty and Health / Massage services are provided by Amore Beauty Therapy Chagford and any contract entered into or issues arising from a guest entering into a contract for provision of these services is a matter between the guest and Amore Beauty Services. The Oxenham Arms accept no responsibility or liability for any issues or matters arising including payment or settlement of accounts with Amore Beauty Therapy. Guests may request special services from the hotel, we will attempt to meet these requests, they are not guaranteed to be available and may be chargeable. We are a family friendly hotel however for the comfort and relaxation of all our guest we do ask parents to keep their children under and immediate supervision / control at all times. As with any licenced establishment, we reserve the right to request Age / Photo ID to confirm age in the event we are asked to supply alcohol. Acceptable forms of proof are: photocard driving licence or passport accredited proof of age card.


Maintenance and Improvements to and around the building and grounds

You may find that there is necessary maintenance, development or refurbishment work taking place during your visit. We will do our best to keep any noise and inconvenience to a minimum however the building is Granite and sounds do carry. If any item requires repair in your room please notify a member of staff. The hotel utilises a pumped hot water system so please let the hot water run for a minute before using the hot water and this applies day or night. We cannot be held responsible for the failure of public services such as water, electricity etc, or for any disturbance which is outside or beyond our control including the weather.


Vouchers must be redeemed at the time of purchase, are not redeemable through third party booking agents and are not redeemable or part redeemable in exchange for cash.



Discounts that we may offer on our own direct Website and our own direct Brochures are only available if booking direct with our hotel and not available if booking via any 3rd party company, website or booking agency. end.
